History and culture lovers of all ages, take note! For the first time, Chamber of Young Snow is joining forces with The University of Hong Kong Libraries to present the three-month “Dreamlike Dunhuang: Recreating the Grandeur of Dunhuang” exhibition, held from June 7 to September 7 at The University of Hong Kong Libraries, with free admission for all. Carefully curated by the Dunhuang Academy, HKU Libraries, and Chamber of Young Snow, this marks the very first collaboration between the Dunhuang Academy, a Hong Kong higher education institution, and a private organization.

The exhibition features 78 representative Dunhuang artworks (pieces or sets) interpreted through six main themed units:
• Unit 1: Along the Silk Roads
• Unit 2: Painted Splendour on the Walls
• Unit 3: Solemn Buddhist Palace
• Unit 4: Myriad Aspects of Mundane Life
• Unit 5: Treasures of Stone Chamber
• Unit 6: Wandering in the Pure Land
Immersive digital films enhance the journey, showcasing the millennia-old craftsmanship and the enduring cultural vitality of the Dunhuang Caves.
A major highlight within the “Solemn Buddhist Palace” section is the first-ever full-scale, 1:1 precision replica of Mogao Cave 45 being displayed in Hong Kong. The replica cave spans about 25 square meters and stands nearly 5 meters tall, offering visitors an up-close experience of the breathtaking artistry and sacred splendor of Dunhuang’s grotto heritage.
