Dunhuang Exhibition: 78 Representative Artworks Debut in Hong Kong

From now until September 7, The University of Hong Kong, together with the Dunhuang Academy and Chamber of Young Snow, is presenting the “Dreamlike Dunhuang: Recreating the Grandeur of Dunhuang” exhibition across the 1st to 3rd floors of HKU Libraries. Admission is free, providing an unmissable opportunity for all history and culture enthusiasts!

The exhibition is organized into six major themed sections:

  • Unit 1: Along the Silk Roads
  • Unit 2: Painted Splendour on the Walls
  • Unit 3: Solemn Buddhist Palace
  • Unit 4: Myriad Aspects of Mundane Life
  • Unit 5: Treasures of Stone Chamber
  • Unit 6: Wandering in the Pure Land

With immersive digital films and a total of 78 representative pieces or sets of Dunhuang artworks on display, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the craftsmanship and rich culture of the Dunhuang Caves up close.
